This is also a book that I had never come across before, and so perhaps unlike the other reviews I should explain a little of the story before reviewing it. Although now I come to try and all I can think of is that the main character in the story is friends with a whole load of superheroes!! To take it a step further the main premise is that the main character is dating a superhero who by the end of the book will have to be convinced that the main character is in fact real after being hypnotised... make sense? never mind, it will when you read it!
If I am looking for faults (and I pretty much always am) then it is far too short! After finishing in about an hour, I'm left thinking that this is such an original idea that so much could have been done with it. In fact if you take out (or skim read) the chapter interludes, which add nothing much, the story itself is probably only 60/70 pages long. While brevity is often admired in books, and I will at some point over the next year be screaming that a book should have ended about 100 pages before it actually does (and one reason why Lord of the Rings is not on my list), I really feel that this story could have done with a little more.
Yes I whole-heartedly recommend it to others, but it is not one that I will take with me to a deserted-island!
